Mersea Homes announces the first detailed plan, and community consultation

Mersea Homes and Countryside Properties have published a detailed plan for the proposed development. Information will be available on a new website they have set up specially for this purpose at  http://www.colchesternorth.co.uk/.

The Press release announced:-

Mersea Homes and Countryside Properties are inviting the public to comment on their emerging proposals for development in North Growth Area Urban Extension (NGAUE).

Mersea Homes and Countryside Properties have notified Councillors, officers from the Borough Council and have arranged press coverage to ensure that local newspapers advertise the event.  We are contacting Myland Community Council and LoveMyland directly because we know that their members have a special interest in the emerging proposals.

Two drop-in consultation events are being held: at the Queen Boudica Primary School from 4:45pm to 8pm on Thursday 8 December, with another drop-in session at the Mile End Recreation Ground Pavilion from 10am to 2pm on Saturday 10 December.

The full text of the Press Release is here.

We strongly advise all residents to attend one of these events to see the detailed plans. For anyone who cannot attend, the plans will then be on display at Myland Community Council's office from Monday 12th December for at least a week between 9am and 1pm on weekdays. The address is 101 Nayland Road, Colchester, CO4 5EN (phone 01206 853 400).

We will be writing much more about this in the coming weeks. Please get on our mailing-list to be kept informed.

October 2011 - Preserving the Mile End playing-fields

The Mile End playing-fields have been placed "in trust" by Colchester Borough Council.

The campaign by local residents, Colchester Borough Council and Bob Russell MP to register the Mile End Playing-Fields as "Fields In Trust" has succeeded.

This is very good news indeed, giving the playing-fields much greater protection from the threat of development. See here for more information.
